Job Title: Student Maintenance Assistant
Reports To: Assistant Director of Operations
Location: Fusion on First at Arizona State University – Downtown Phoenix
Compensation: $15.15 per hour - Position not eligible for benefits. Position works up to 20 hours per week.
FLSA Status: Student Non-Exempt

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university.
Summary:
A Student Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting with the preventative maintenance tasks in the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- General cleaning of the grounds.
- Replacing air filters.
- Replacing smoke detector and thermostat batteries.
- Replacing light bulbs.
- Distributing items to resident rooms.
- Serve in on-call rotation for both fall and spring academic semesters as well as break coverage (fall break, winter break, spring break, etc.)
- Operate front desk, answer phone calls, receive and log packages and mail, key management (lockouts and lock change process), receive maintenance requests, and paperwork management.
- Assist with plumbing issues, cleaning spills, mopping, and water extraction.
- Assist with move-in and move-out, arrive to campus prior to academic year begins and stay after end of academic year.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma.
- Current student at Arizona State University – Downtown Phoenix Campus
- Must be a resident of ASU Gordon Commons or ASU Fusion of First
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and navigate up and down stairs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
- Possess strong customer service skills.
- Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience living on college campus or similar group housing setting.
