Senior Systems Engineer - Traffic Modeling & Missile Tracking

Position Overview

Join a cross-functional team developing state-of-the-art ground operational systems for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). This hybrid role (3-4 days onsite) involves traffic data modeling for missile tracking systems, satellite constellation integration, and advanced systems engineering for space-to-ground communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Systems engineering including decomposing requirements into modeling of traffic data flow from satellite constellations to ground networks
• Pre-planned and ad-hoc scheduling of satellite services for missile tracking
• Analysis of missile tracking data to validate traffic models
• Development and deployment of ground operational systems including integration, testing, and maintenance
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools like CAMEO or MagicDraw

Required Qualifications

• US Citizen with active DoD Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field + 8+ years experience (Master's + 6 years also accepted)
• 15+ years recent experience modeling communication data using satellite constellations and ground networks
• 10+ years Satellite to Ground RF communication protocols, packet prioritization, routing, and traffic modeling
• Experience with space-ground communications, Radar/IR systems
• Proficiency in Java, Python, MATLAB for analysis, prototyping, and modeling
• MBSE experience with CAMEO or MagicDraw

• Missile tracking systems design, architecture, and sensor fusion
• Satellite service scheduling logic for missile tracking
• Cloud technologies for system design/deployment
• Image processing (collection, handling, storage, analysis)
