Sr Research Associate – PHCS

Rate: $38/hour

Position Overview

The Sr Research Associate will support research, development, and manufacturing laboratory activities within Personalized Healthcare Solutions (PHCS). This role contributes directly to Ventana’s scientific programs by designing and executing complex experiments, analyzing data, and generating high‑quality technical documentation. The position requires strong scientific judgment, deep technical expertise, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate maintains a high level of scientific rigor, adheres to GMP/GLP/Design Control requirements, and consistently produces complete, accurate laboratory records. This individual may also serve as a principal investigator for assigned experiments and provide mentorship or supervision to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Design experimental plans aligned with project objectives.
• Execute bench‑level experiments, document detailed observations, and perform data analysis.
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
• Maintain complete, accurate laboratory documentation and electronic files.
• Develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria independently.
• Identify and implement improvements to laboratory workflows and processes.
• Serve as a recognized expert across a broad range of scientific techniques.
• Identify work with potential for publication or patent submission.
• Participate in scientific conferences and contribute to journal publications as appropriate.
• Solve highly complex scientific problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables.
• Exercise independent judgment in method development and experimental design.
• Lead or participate in cross‑functional technical teams, including failure investigations.
• Collaborate effectively within project teams, offering creative solutions and planning input.
• Establish productive interfaces across organizational groups.
• Train colleagues in areas of technical expertise; may supervise junior personnel.
• Troubleshoot laboratory issues and implement corrective actions.
• Present experimental procedures and results to groups and project teams.
• Monitor work for quality and promote a “Quality First Time” culture.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in a scientific discipline
• 6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree
• 1+ year of relevant experience with a Master’s degree

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
