Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks required
• Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs
• Patient ratio of 1:2 in ICU, 4:1 when floating to telemetry units
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience and EVD (External Ventricular Drain) experience
• 2 years ICU experience required in large hospital (450+ beds)
• 3-6 months travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail)
• Required to float between all ICU floors and telemetry units
• 2 shifts floor-specific orientation provided
• Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience
• Work with patients requiring critical care with neurological diagnoses
• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors
• Manage ventilators with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support
• Dress code: any color or print scrubs (steel grey for neuro floors)
• Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Must have own vehicle for transportation
• May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

The 32-bed Neuro ICU provides critical care for patients with neurological diagnoses and maintains advanced monitoring capabilities.
