Coreslab Structures (ARIZ) Inc., a leader in the precast/prestressed construction industry is seeking a Semi-Trailer Mechanic to join our team.

A Light Duty Semi-Trailer Mechanic inspects, maintains, and repairs trailer components—such as brakes, lighting, suspension, and tires—to ensure compliance with DOT safety standards. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical/mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing structural damage to trailers.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine inspections, lube services, and repairs on trailer systems including air brakes, suspensions, wiring, and lighting.
• Structural Repair: Repair roofs, panels, doors, flooring, and rub rails.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Diagnostics: Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using specialized tools and equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of, and in some cases enter data for, all repairs and maintenance.
• Fabrication: Perform welding and cutting as needed for repair.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3 years in trailer maintenance or similar mechanical work.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of air brake systems, electrical systems, and structural repairs.
• Tools: Must have a personal set of hand tools.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, bend, crouch, and work in varied weather conditions.
• Licensure: A valid driver's license is typically required.

Key Differences for Light Duty
Light-duty roles often focus more on quick-turnaround repairs, such as brakes, lighting, and minor bodywork (flooring/doors), rather than heavy structural frame repairs or complex engine diagnostics.

Salary:

• $30-$40/hour, depending on experience
