Infrastructure Engineer Phoenix, Arizona US Citizens & Permanent Residents only (no sponsorship is available).

@Orchard LLC is actively recruiting an Infrastructure Engineer to support a major management consulting engagement, located in the Phoenix, AZ area. This is an on-site role for the client, responsible for maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure environments across servers, databases, middleware, networking, and cloud platforms.

As the Site Reliability Engineer, you will be expected to.

• Manage and support enterprise infrastructure environments across Linux/Unix and Windows servers, virtualized and cloud environments, middleware, and application hosting platforms.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and system availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, outages, and performance bottlenecks.
• Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with the application, database, network, security, and DevOps team.
• Implement infrastructure automation and operational improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, and banking regulatory requirements.
• Support disaster recovery, backup, and high availability strategies.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and incident management processes.

Your background and education will need to include.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix and Windows server administration.
• 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure monitoring and observability tools.
• Strong experience with Server provisioning and configuration management.
• Good knowledge of Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, Firewalls) and enterprise storage and backup solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with Shell-scripting, Python, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines & DevOps practices.
• Experience supporting Enterprise applications & middleware platforms.
• Experience supporting database environments (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management capabilities.
• Experience performing root cause analysis (RCA).
• Understanding of system performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Experience working in high-availability and mission-critical environments

Extra experience that will stand out.

• Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
• Exposure to cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, or Prometheus

Compensation: Compensation ranges are determined by several factors, including skill set, experience, licensure and certifications, and location. The anticipated range for a base salary for this role is between $90-120K. There may be some flexibility for exceptionally qualified individuals.
