Machine Operator - Lap and Polish

The primary responsibilities of this position are to load, operate and unload machinery with ceramic semifinished products. The Lap and Polish Operator will also operate small hand tools and equipment in the use of processing and conducting quality inspections/measurements of products as well as ensuring the production schedule is executed to time, quality, and productivity requirements.

Shift: Friday - Sunday, 6:00am - 6:00pm

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate machine tools to process ceramic products per specifications.
• Calibrate and use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and inspect parts visually.
• Follow SOPs, safety regulations, and programmed sequences for equipment operation.
• Load/unload parts safely, change tools as needed, and perform light machine maintenance.
• Identify and correct program errors independently with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, report production progress.
• Attend training sessions and train others on equipment use and safety when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure machinery is cleaned regularly.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and work efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with company and industry standards throughout all processes.

What is required for the role:

• High School Diploma/GED equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of machine operating experience, including set-up and tear down, in a manufacturing setting.
• Computer literate and knowledgeable about tools and tooling
• Previous experience utilizing calipers, micrometers and other tools used in the quality measurement of products.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Quality first attitude and a strong team spirit to help keep equipment running within process specifications.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without strain and standing for long periods of time.
