A TIG Welder, or Tungsten Inert Gas welder, is a skilled professional who uses TIG welding to precisely join metal parts. This involves an electric arc between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the metal, with an inert gas shielding the weld area. TIG welders work in various industries, including aerospace, construction, manufacturing, and fabrication.
Common duties, responsibilities, and qualifications include:
Mon-Fri 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM 1st Shift Pay Rate: $25HR

Core Responsibilities:

• Operating TIG welding equipment.
• Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to plan layout and select equipment.
• Following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Welding stainless steel.
• Inspecting welds and performing repairs.
• Maintaining welding equipment.

Additional potential duties:

• Fabricating and fitting custom parts.
• Troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Collaborating with teams.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in TIG welding techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Knowledge of safety practices.
• Physical stamina and strength.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Relevant experience, 2-3 years required.
• Certification, which can be beneficial.

Typical Educational Background:

• High school diploma or equivalent is usually required.
• Vocational or technical training through schools or apprenticeships is common.
