CLASSIFICATION : Classified Compensation Plan Level 12 , 9- month Full - time ( Salary based on experience )

REPORTS TO :

Director of Child Nutrition Services

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES : To plan, direct and implement all district catering services and serve in a supervisory role in the absence of food service site managers

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Supervises the day-to-day operations of all catering services within the district, which includes cooking, delivering, serving and cleaning.

• Daily courier of site deposits to the financial institution.
• Schedules, assigns work, hires, trains, disciplines and terminates cafeteria staff.
• Directs and assists in cooking all food that is prepared each day.
• Orders food and beverages, checks inventory received and follows up on special
• situations such as field trips and events.
• Maintains production records and tracts food used daily.
• Monitors and verifies meal counts and Records free and reduced lunches.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

• Knowledge of child nutrition program requirements.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations as it applies to food preparation and service.
• Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and software applications.
• Skill in cooking, serving food and maintaining a healthy environment.
• Skill in applying health and safety regulations to a food service environment.
• Skill in supervising, training and assigning work to others.
• Skill in operating computer hardware and software applications.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up to 50 pounds), carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. May be subject to extreme temperatures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or GED and preferred five (5) years food service management experience OR an equipment combination or education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills. Completion of 8 hours Professional
