Sentient Decision Science builds scientific technology that quantifies and provides more accurate predictions of the impact of human emotion on choice. We believe that by providing access to human emotion and its cognitive triggers, Sentient is delivering new-to-the-world insight on human behavior, resulting in deeper empathy for the human condition. Business Unit Description Sentient Insights builds and executes primary market research to address brands' business needs using the theories, techniques and technologies developed by Sentient Labs. These products are designed to answer recurring business questions and to bring the benefits of behavioral science to businesses, at scale.
Position Details
Insights Directors are experts in using advanced behavioral science-based research to analyze consumer behavior. Insights Directors are responsible for providing clients with evidence-based guidance on go/no go decisions and insights on how to make marketing and product innovation more effective. Research expertise spans advertising optimization, sonic development, claim or concept evaluation, new positioning, and more complex conjoint and custom studies.
Insights Directors are central to customer account success, amassing category and customer-specific knowledge and inspiring action through evidence-based insights storytelling. This is not a direct people-management role but does include mentorship responsibilities. This role is fully remote.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver senior-level strategic value to Sentient Insights platform customers.
a. Provide expert guidance on how Sentient's advanced behavioral science-based research tools deliver more powerful insights to customers.
b. Work with Sentient Customer Success to fit best platform products to the specific business and insights needs of clients.
c. Educate customers on research methods, design parameters including statistical significance, and test stimuli criteria for each platform product.
d. Provide compelling support of go/no go decisions through evidence-based insights storytelling that you deliver directly to clients.
Provide direction and training to Insights Managers.
a. Direct the work of Insights Managers in the effective execution of projects.
b. Provide guidance on data interpretation and teach evidence-based insights storytelling techniques.
c. Review and evaluate the work of Insights Managers and provide feedback to support their role and career progression.
d. Become an expert able to provide training on Sentient methods and other advanced analytics used on Sentient's platform of products.
e. Act as a role model for the organization, consistently demonstrating Sentient's core values and leading by example.
Create new industry knowledge through meta-analyses of behavioral science data.
a. Envision and execute the development of White Papers and Best Practice reports for the Sentient Insights product platform.
b. Run quantitative meta-analyses on attention, emotion, and neural network association data across all Sentient Insights products.
Improve Sentient Insights product value by translating new knowledge into product features and benefit
a. Collaborate with Customer Success, Sentient Lab and Sentient Technologies on customer driven enhancements to the capabilities of the platform.
b. Improve the value of Sentient Insights products by translating new knowledge into product features and benefits.
c. Work to improve data visualizations that clearly illustrate the core components of the story for each Sentient Insights Platform Product.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Successful Sentient Insights Directors can create compelling stories explaining the why behind marketing and innovation success or failure that is evidence-based and clearly illustrated through graphic representation of the data. This role is occupied by someone who possesses a broad skill set in advanced quantitative primary research and analysis methods. The ideal candidate is comfortable both with statistical analysis of primary data and delivering their insights directly to our clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, marketing research, business management, or similar quantitative field; Master's degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience with primary quantitative research
- Experience mentoring talent
- Excellent organization, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Brand and/or client-facing experience is preferred
- Experience with Q Research Software or similar statistical analysis software preferred
