Location: 3180 S Craycroft Rd, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ 85707

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Metrics is bidding on effort in support of the US Air Force and is seeking an Contract Specialist to support the 355th Contracting Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB . This position plays a vital role in the execution of base-level federal acquisitions, contributing directly to the mission success of the U.S. Air Force. The ideal candidate has mid-level federal contracting experience, familiarity with USAF acquisition processes, and the ability to drive task execution with professionalism and attention to compliance.

Key Duties:

• Assist Contracting Officers with the development and execution of acquisition strategies.

• Support the preparation of solicitations, amendments, task orders, and contract modifications.

• Conduct research and analysis to support decisions related to cost, pricing, and technical data.

• Support source selection planning and documentation in accordance with FAR and Air Force guidance.

• Maintain accurate contract records within government contract writing systems and specialized databases.

• Participate in technical and price evaluations of contractor proposals.

• Track acquisition milestones and assist with contract closeout activities.

• Draft documentation for FOIA responses, IG/GAO audits, and Congressional inquiries.

• Coordinate with DFAS and other payment offices for timely financial actions.

• Provide administrative and documentation support to Contracting Officers and Negotiators.

Basic Qualifications:

• 6+ years of contracting experience within a Federal Government Agency .

  • Preferred : Experience with Department of the Air Force contracting.

• Minimum 2 years of base-level contracting experience (commercial supplies/services, minor construction).

• Preferred : Experience in construction contracting.

• Bachelor’s degree in any field

  • OR 8+ years of federal contracting experience (no degree)

  • OR 6+ years specifically within the Department of the Air Force (no degree)

• Certification: DAWIA Contracting Professional , FAC-C Professional , or equivalent.

Required Skills:

• Clear, concise oral and written communication skills.

• Strong research and analytical capability across technical and cost/pricing data.

• Ability to understand and apply acquisition regulations, policy, and directives (FAR/DFARS/DAF Guidance).

• Familiarity with contract writing and acquisition management tools.
