Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated CAREGIVERS/PERSONAL CARE AIDS to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including home, assisted living, memory care, and nursing facilities. This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for residents with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for caregiving and possess relevant experience in long-term and community care environments.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs and overall condition
- Administer medication reminders following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and infection control practices
- Document patient observations accurately in compliance with care plans and regulatory standards
- Support residents with cognitive impairments by engaging in activities suited to their needs, including Alzheimer's or dementia care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance residents’ quality of life
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including CPR, first aid, and other relevant certifications
Requirements
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience with medication administration, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with residents of all ages and backgrounds
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and hospice principles is advantageous
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; experience working in assisted living or long-term care settings is highly valued
