About the Role
As the Controller, you will lead the hospital’s accounting and financial operations, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the organization achieves and exceeds its financial objectives. You’ll collaborate closely with hospital leadership, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help maintain a strong internal control environment. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Direct and oversee the hospital’s accounting systems and financial operations, including billing, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, and audits
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reviews, budgets, and required state financial reports
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance operational and financial efficiency in collaboration with hospital leadership and regional teams
- Participate in hospital committees and partnership boards as needed
- Support compliance monitoring related to Medicare regulations
- Foster a culture that celebrates achievements and encourages continuous improvement
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
- At least five years of hospital accounting experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, analysis techniques, and managerial leadership
- Experience in labor management, revenue analysis, expense oversight, contract negotiation, and utilization review
- A background in capital and operational budgeting
- Demonstrated success in implementing and maintaining internal controls
