Staff Accountant

Description

The Wolff Company is a multifamily-focused real estate investment company, seeking a Staff Accountant to support its Corporate and Fund Accounting functions.

This role is primarily remote, with an expected in-office presence one day per week at our Scottsdale, Arizona corporate office. Occasional additional in-office days may be necessary to support important projects, collaboration, or meetings. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.

What you will be doing:

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Actively manage accounts payable process
• Review invoice support to ensure accuracy and completeness and obtain required approvals
• Organize invoices, track status, communicate internally and externally, and prepare supporting allocation schedules
• Set up new project codes and vendors in Yardi
• Process payments in accounting software or banking platforms
• Communicate with vendors
• Assist with the annual 1099 process

Internal Reimbursements (AR)

• Allocate shared costs between multiple projects (travel, overhead, etc.) and prepare reimbursement invoices including supporting documentation
• Review allocation of personnel travel and set up employee reimbursements
• Follow up and resolve questions with internal team members timely

Financial Reporting Assistance

• Assist with financial reporting process
• Reconcile intercompany transactions
• Reconcile bank activity
• Post payroll entries
• Maintain supporting account schedules (such as prepaid details) and prepare necessary journal entries for month end reporting
• Assist with annual audit
• Upload documents and transactions to investor portal

Other

• Other duties as assigned, supporting Fund Accounting and reporting responsibilities

Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience in an Accounting or Public Accounting position or recent Accounting or Finance graduate
• Experience with accounting software (Yardi preferred)
• Effective communication – verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proactively resolve questions and problem-solve
• Technical knowledge and application required for Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Salary Description

$65k - $75k plus 10% target bonus
