Director, Data Center Facilities Engineering and Operations

We need someone to lead facilities engineering and operations teams for a new enterprise data center currently under construction in Phoenix. This Director role will be responsible for the following:
- Lead a 24×365 data center team with responsibility for all aspects of facilities infrastructure, ensuring effective performance in all operations and maintenance activities.
- Recruit, hire, coach, and develop all facilities team colleagues.
- Establish Standard and Emergency operating procedures and training programs to ensure a strong safety culture and compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company standards.
- Serve as the 24x7 escalation point for facilities-related incidents and emergencies, coordinating response and resolution.
- Implement and manage a comprehensive maintenance program including procedures, training, schedules, and third-party vendor engagements.
- Partner closely with the Data Center IT Operations team and develop and maintain strong relationships across the enterprise.
- Manage operating budgets and resource planning while supporting capital budgeting, forecasting, and infrastructure investment planning.
- Interface with utilities and local agencies as required.
- 10+ years of relevant experience with full accountability for managing data center facility operations.
- Experience leading teams of 10+ direct reports in a high-availability environment.
- Strength in change management and large-scale project management.
Proven expertise as a technical subject matter expert across critical data center systems, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and life-safety infrastructure. .
- Familiarity with hyperscale data center facilities and network architectures.
- Experience managing multiple facilities in one region or campus.
- Active engagement with relevant industry organizations, certifications, events, and conferences.
- Exceptional business and communication skills—including analysis, collaboration, presentation, and influence—demonstrated within a corporate environment.
