Summary Assistant Guide – Part-Time to Full-Time Opportunity
Nature’s Path Montessori is seeking a nurturing and dedicated Assistant Guide to join our team. This position will start as part-time, with the potential to move to full-time if we are all a good fit for each other.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children (not necessarily as a classroom assistant)
- Warm, kind, and nurturing approach
- Strong management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
- Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the classroom
- Classroom management
- Assisting with toileting and self-care routines
- Cleaning and maintaining the classroom environment
- Supporting the lead guide and other staff as needed
- Preparing and organizing classroom materials
- Observing children and reporting observations to the lead guide
- Helping with transitions between activities
- Assisting with snacks and mealtimes
- Encouraging independence and respectful behavior
- Providing a nurturing and safe environment for all children
- Supervising and engaging with children on the playground
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- At least 1–2 years of professional childcare or classroom experience
- Experience with Montessori philosophy is a plus
- Certifications and Documentation
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Fingerprint Clearance Card

- Ability to work well with others and as part of a team
- Good classroom management and organizational skills
- Observant, patient, and nurturing demeanor
- Ability to follow directions, accept coaching, and be flexible in a dynamic environment
- Commitment to upholding Montessori philosophy, including respect for children’s independence and development
- Basic computer skills may be required for record-keeping and communication
Additional Considerations
- A willingness to complete Montessori-specific training, such as an orientation or assistant certificate course
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and learning in a Montessori environment is essential
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
