Assistant Guide – Part-Time to Full-Time Opportunity
Nature’s Path Montessori is seeking a nurturing and dedicated Assistant Guide to join our team. This position will start as part-time, with the potential to move to full-time if we are all a good fit for each other.
Requirements:

• Experience working with children (not necessarily as a classroom assistant)
• Warm, kind, and nurturing approach
• Strong management and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
• Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the classroom

Duties

• Classroom management
• Assisting with toileting and self-care routines
• Cleaning and maintaining the classroom environment
• Supporting the lead guide and other staff as needed
• Preparing and organizing classroom materials
• Observing children and reporting observations to the lead guide
• Helping with transitions between activities
• Assisting with snacks and mealtimes
• Encouraging independence and respectful behavior
• Providing a nurturing and safe environment for all children
• Supervising and engaging with children on the playground

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience:
• At least 1–2 years of professional childcare or classroom experience
• Experience with Montessori philosophy is a plus
• Certifications and Documentation
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Fingerprint Clearance Card

• Ability to work well with others and as part of a team
• Good classroom management and organizational skills
• Observant, patient, and nurturing demeanor
• Ability to follow directions, accept coaching, and be flexible in a dynamic environment
• Commitment to upholding Montessori philosophy, including respect for children’s independence and development
• Basic computer skills may be required for record-keeping and communication

Additional Considerations

• A willingness to complete Montessori-specific training, such as an orientation or assistant certificate course
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and learning in a Montessori environment is essential
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
