Job Title: Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking multiple Superintendents to support a variety of projects in Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas. We are looking for candidates with a range of experience levels, from 5 to over 10 years, to join our team and contribute to the successful execution of our diverse projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
• Review and understand contract documents.
• Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies.
• Participate in the development and management of a project schedule, including three and six week look ahead schedules.
• Develop a site logistics plan.
• Lead the utilization of tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with project partners for coaching, supervision, and development.
• Conduct on-site project orientations and effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings.
• Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews.
• Interview, hire, transfer, and if needed, dismiss craft team members.
• Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members.
• Ensure proper task coding of work hours on time cards.
• Lead and track work progress and craft productivity.
• Handle craft team member training, ensuring they are current before starting tasks.
• Conduct career development discussions with foremen and craft team members.
• Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members.
• Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions.
• Seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Field management, commercial construction, general contractor, subcontractor management, and construction superintendent experience.
• Experience in commercial construction projects.
• Ground-up construction experience.
• Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate company policies.
• Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to travel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Superintendent I - 5+ years as a Superintendent.
• Superintendent II - 8+ years as a Superintendent.
• Superintendent - 10+ years as a Superintendent.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position at a project location, with typical working hours ranging from 40-50 hours per week, depending on project demands. A per diem is provided for individuals traveling to Tucson or Las Vegas. The position is salaried. Current and upcoming projects include the Cardinals training facility and healthcare and pharmaceutical projects in Phoenix, a student housing project in Tucson, and hotel projects in Las Vegas.

This is a Permanent position based out of Tempe, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
