Occupational Therapist Job Details

• Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital Rehab Unit
• Location: Flagstaff, Arizona 86001
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: October 6, 2025
• Contract Duration: 6 weeks
• Shift: 5x8-hour day shifts (08:00 - 16:30), 40 hours/week
• Weekend Coverage: At least one weekend day per week required
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics (Daily census: 12-16 patients)
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Parking: Free on-site parking
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2570 - $2640

Occupational Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care occupational therapy experience
• Active Arizona Occupational Therapist license (required prior to start)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Manual therapy skills preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Ability to treat a variety of medical diagnoses and manage moderate to maximum assist patients
• Experience with ventilated patients and co-treatments
• Adaptability to pick up additional evaluations as needed
• First-time travel occupational therapists welcome

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for acute care patients
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care to maximize patient independence and safety
• Educate patients and families on adaptive equipment, safety, and injury prevention
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members for co-treatments and discharge planning
• Perform standardized assessments and reassessments
• Manage diverse caseloads including neurological, orthopedic, and trauma diagnoses
• Participate in weekend coverage as scheduled
• Maintain hospital quality and patient safety standards
