Job Summary
The IT Financial Manager oversees the financial strategy and execution of technology-related spending across a large enterprise. This role leads financial planning, forecasting, cost transparency, and technology chargebacks while partnering with business and technology leaders to guide investment decisions and ensure financial accountability. The ideal candidate combines strong financial expertise, strategic thinking, and people leadership to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and maximize the business value of technology investments.
Job Description
- Department Financials
- Partner with executive leadership to define and implement financial goals for the IT department
- Establish and implement financial best practices across department operations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop annual business plans and forecasts by translating business initiatives and consumption trends into projected technology costs
- Monitor monthly financial performance, including Run vs. Transform spending using the Technology Business Management (TBM) framework
- Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests
- Financial Data Analysis and Training
- Maintain strong knowledge of accounting systems and reporting tools to support accurate financial analysis
- Promote financial accountability and TBM understanding among service owners and product managers
- Conduct benchmarking analyses and develop cost models to support data-driven decisions
- Coordinate reporting requirements with Accounting and other corporate teams
- Present financial trends and provide training to departmental stakeholders
- Corporate Financial Reporting
- Serve as the primary liaison to the corporate reporting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Provide guidance on forecasting for key initiatives and material financial matters
- Share IT Finance best practices and support the development of corporate finance professionals
- Technology Cost Transparency and Chargebacks
- Drive technology cost transparency by ensuring chargeback rates align with forecasted consumption, cost structures, and business objectives
- Build partnerships across the enterprise to improve understanding and use of chargeback data
- Promote fair, transparent, and defensible technology cost recovery aligned with business value
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with all applicable policies and standards
Skills Required
- Minimum 8 years of related Finance professional experience required; 11 years preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Additional credit may be given for public accounting experience
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to employees, management, and clients at all levels
- Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change
- Strong project management skills and a strategic perspective
- Experience with Oracle and Microsoft Power BI preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple day-to-day and ongoing projects simultaneously
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited program
