Living Hope Arcadia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our residential behavioral health team serving adults in recovery. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Behavioral Health Provider to support clients in overcoming substance use and addiction. You will play a key role in providing direct care, facilitating recovery-based group counseling, and contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment.
Duties
- Provide direct client care and support within a structured residential setting
- Facilitate and co-lead recovery group counseling sessions under clinical supervision
- Monitor, document, and report client behaviors and progress in treatment
- Assist in implementing individualized service and recovery plans
- Support clients in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention strategies
- Respond to and manage crisis situations in a calm and professional manner
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment
- Ensure all client records and interactions comply with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Participate in training and staff development related to behavioral health and recovery practices
Skills
- BHT certification (Arizona) required
- Experience working with adults in mental Health and substance use recovery or addiction treatment settings
- Knowledge of group facilitation techniques and recovery models such as 12-step or CBT-based programs
- Strong crisis management and de-escalation skills
- Familiarity with behavioral health documentation standards
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Compassionate, professional, and reliable work ethic

Required:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health-related field preferred
- Previous experience working in an IOP, residential, or outpatient behavioral health setting
- Strong writing skills and ability to complete detailed clinical notes
- Ability to facilitate or assist with group sessions and structured classes
- Professional communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:
- Experience with co-occurring substance use and mental health treatment
- Familiarity with recovery principles, peer support models, and behavioral health documentation
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-Time: 18 hours per week
- Pay: $ 18 per hour (based on experience)
- Schedule : 8:30 - 3 PM , six days a week (Monday - Saturday)
