Staff Accountant

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Responsible for assisting the Accounting department with the month-end close process including preparation of monthly journal entries and reconciliations. Assists with various special projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Execute month-end close activities across various accounting functions.
• Support projects process optimizations and system enhancements.
• Perform account reconciliations and variance analyses to ensure financial accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align accounting processes and improve accuracy.
• Identify and recommend improvements to policies procedures and controls with corresponding solutions.
• Adapt to evolving priorities while contributing positive energy to a collaborative team environment.
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related discipline

EXPERIENCE

• 2 years of public accounting experience and/or 2 years in industry
• Strong accounting foundation
• Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment and adapt to an evolving workplace.

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP internal controls and corporate accounting practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of finance/accounting systems and designing processes and procedures
• Accounting workpaper design and documentation

SKILLS

• Analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.

• Organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Communication and time management skills
• Intermediate Excel skills
