Retail Associate

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Retail Associate is primarily responsible for placing merchandise on sales floor, maintaining cleanliness and organization of front of store and cashier areas, providing cashier and customer service and store recovery as needed.
Also support management In daily store operations and ensure store procedures and protocol is followed including to load, unload, sort and process donation as needed.

• Provide cashier and/or carry out services as scheduled. Enforce cashier policies and procedures (processing payments, vouchers, balancing cash drawer, ect.).
• Transport merchandise to sales floor, display and stock shelves and racks, rotating as needed.
• Load sold items when needed.
• Provide support to other store functions such as evaluating donation quality to build an inventory for resale, loading, unloading, sorting and processing of donations. Also help to organize and maintain seasonal goods storage.
• Accept donations, write receipts for merchandise donated by donors as needed.
• Maintain program participant/volunteer confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean sales floor and cashier areas at all times. Maintain general store and donation area cleanliness through the store’s business hours to ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist in store recovery as needed.
• Assist in the supervision, placement, training, and cross-training of all program participants/volunteers assigned to the thrift store.
• Work cooperatively with all team members to help them and the department attain overall goals.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and metrics are met.
• Provide courteous and respectful customer service at all times, answers the telephone and redirects calls to proper department.
• Support management in daily store operations and ensure store procedures and protocol is followed the staff and volunteers.
• Maintains outdoor facilities including parking lots, gates and mini mobiles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
