The Raytheon Hardware Engineering Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo, missile and combat system equipment. The mechanical team uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon’s CORE principles. The team’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation.

The candidate will report directly to the Coyote SHORAD Section within the Tactical Radars and Land Based Effectors AUR (TRaLBEAUR) Department. The Department provides mechanical and hardware systems engineering expertise and provides support across locations in California, Texas, and Massachusetts. The candidate will report directly to a Mechanical Design and Production Support section in the department. The mechanical engineer position is to perform research, design, analysis, and development in such areas as mechanical systems, thermal systems, materials, test equipment, hardware processes, or manufacturing processes. The position is for the Tucson, Arizona location.

What You Will Do

• Engineering Planning.
• Mechanical Engineering Design of Subassemblies and Equipment.
• Manufacturing Engineering and Hardware Development.
• Development and testing of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems.
• Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Hardware Integration.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Physics, Math, or related (STEM) major obtained by start date.

• Experience in mechanical subsystems documentation

• Experience in using CAD software.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

• Ability to work in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
