Location: Kitchen inside Telesis Preparatory Academy: 2598 Starlite Ln, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403
Department: Production Kitchen
Schedule: Monday-Friday; Typically, between 6:00 am- 1:30 pm
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time, Seasonal (Hours decrease/cease during school breaks)
Job Summary
The Kitchen Supervisor oversees the daily operations of Nutrition One’s commercial production kitchen in Lake Havasu. This role ensures all meals are produced accurately, safely, and in compliance with federal nutrition program requirements. The Kitchen Supervisor creates and executes production schedules, maintains kitchen flow and efficiency, and ensures team members follow company standards for safety, quality, and service.
The Kitchen Supervisor leads by example, demonstrating servant leadership and accountability while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Essential Functions
???? Food Production & Quality
- Oversee daily production of approximately 280 meals following standardized recipes and menu guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance for all meal components, including those for students with dietary restrictions.
- Maintain consistency and quality across hot and cold food preparation lines.
- Expedite production to meet strict delivery timelines.
- Monitor portioning, labeling, and storage per NSLP and HACCP requirements.
???? Safety & Compliance
- Maintain and annually review N1’s HACCP plan and Production Kitchen SOPs with the Director/Executive Chef.
- Enforce sanitation, hygiene, and safety practices throughout the kitchen.
- Ensure all employees follow proper food handling, PPE, and cleaning standards.
- Support inspections, audits, and compliance reporting as needed.
????️???? Leadership & Training
- Supervise 2+ employees with clear direction, communication, and accountability.
- Create weekly schedules and manage payroll hours within budget.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and training with HR and Regional Directors.
- Mentor employees to build skillsets and foster long-term growth within the company.
- Communicate updates via Slack, email, or in person to ensure alignment across the team.
???? Inventory & Operations
- Maintain accurate inventory rotation, storage, and documentation.
- Place daily food and supply orders using Health-e Pro and ensure production records are printed and filed.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to support cost control goals.
- Oversee vendor coordination for kitchen maintenance or equipment repair.
- Use the Master Annual Calendar to stay aligned with deadlines and compliance tasks.

Requirements
✅ Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen environment (e.g., school meals, catering, or healthcare food service).
- 1+ years in a supervisory or lead role, overseeing scheduling, staff development, or workflow coordination.
- Current Kitchen Manager ServSafe Certification.
- DPS-issued IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work early morning hours.
???? Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for 6+ hours per shift in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Frequently bend, squat, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Maneuver carts up to 100 lbs.
- Work safely around hot surfaces, sharp tools, and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Tolerate exposure to extreme heat, cold, or humidity.
- Maintain focus and composure in a noisy, high-energy environment.
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Programs , including NSLP, CACFP, and SFSP compliance standards.
- Culinary or Food Service degree.
- Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now App.
