Yard Hostler / Forklift Operator – $21/hr – Waddell, AZ

Location: Waddell, AZ

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time

A growing distribution operation in the West Valley is hiring a Yard Hostler / Forklift Operator to support daily logistics functions. This role is responsible for safely operating a terminal tractor to move trailers within the yard, maintaining equipment, supporting dock operations, and assisting with inventory tracking. Candidates should have experience in yard management and operating powered industrial trucks.

Key Responsibilities

Yard Management & Equipment Operation

• Safely operate terminal tractors to move trailers to and from dock doors and yard stalls
• Complete trailer inspections to ensure safety and mechanical readiness
• Conduct yard inventory checks and audits
• Keep accurate logs, forms, and inspection records as required

Safety & Compliance

• Perform pre-trip inspections on equipment
• Maintain energy sources (fuel/electric) for equipment
• Adhere to company safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately

Warehouse Support

• Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks as needed
• Assist with product movement and inventory within the facility
• Use scanners or warehouse systems for inventory tracking
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in line with company standards

Requirements

• 1+ year of Yard Hostler or Yard Jockey experience (preferred)
• Experience operating forklifts or other PIT equipment
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable standing, walking, kneeling, and climbing ladders as needed
• Basic computer or warehouse management system (WMS) knowledge
• Fluent in English (additional languages a plus)
• Previous experience in food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods industries is a plus
• Must be at least 18 years of age
