Job Summary
Highwire Tucson is seeking a proactive and experienced Security Manager to oversee the safety and security of our guests, staff, and venue. In this role, you will manage security operations, monitor the premises, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. You will also handle disturbances, enforce policies, and lead a team of security personnel to maintain a safe, welcoming environment. General Accountabilities
- Reviews, revises, develops, and implements security policies, procedures, and standards; manages programs to protect corporate facilities, property, and employees.
- Develops and administers security procedures manuals.
- Creates and maintains reporting procedures for all security incidences.
- Directs or conducts investigations concerning security violations or infractions of company policy; coordinates with outside law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Establishes guidelines and standards for coordinating, directing, selecting, training, and supervising security staff and/or outside protective services.
- Assists, advises, and guides all company departments regarding security regulations and procedures including but not limited to planning, directing, and implementing security systems such as electronic alarms, closed circuit surveillance, entry controls, ultrasonic motion detectors, and/or outdoor perimeter alarms.
- Develops and implements company-wide security education programs.
- Ensures background investigations are conducted to identify potential problems with new employees or contract labor.
- Maintains currency in security disciplines and awareness of changing industry standards or regulations; develops appropriate company responses.
- Develops and maintains relationships with government and local industry security associates and law enforcement personnel; develops and maintains relationships with outside vendors and contractors.
- Prepares all required reports and correspondence.
- Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops security staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
- Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Two to four years related experience. Previous law enforcement experience a plus.
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of security regulations/procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Basic competence in subordinates' duties and tasks.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
- Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
- Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive motions.
Ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to respond quickly to physical demands of the job, including emergencies if applicable.
