CVICU RN Job Details

• Location: Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 (Arizona nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Community hospital, Joint Commission Accredited, Level III Trauma Center
• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – 16 beds, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Employment Type: Travel RN contract
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/29/2025 – End: 12/29/2025)
• Shifts: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250-$2310
• Call Requirements: Yes
• Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
• Electronic Health Record: Medhost

CVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Arizona or compact state)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or blended ICU nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Ability to float to Intermediate Care Unit and Emergency Department (ED) holding as needed
• Strong clinical skills in managing common CVICU diagnoses and treatments (e.g., STEMI, NSTEMI, CABG, valve repair/replacement, sepsis, acute respiratory failure, stroke, trauma, CRRT, TCAR, TVAR)

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Operate Baxter pumps and advanced medical equipment safely and effectively
• Accurately document patient care in Medhost EHR
• Float to Intermediate Care Unit and assist with ED holding as required
• Comply with hospital policies, including attendance and dress code (scrubs required)
