Certified Athletic Trainer
Job Description
Job Description
The Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Team at ARIS is looking for a candidate who has a degree in the realm of exercise science or kinesiology. They will be paired with a Physical Therapist to help carry out the exercise program for each patient/athlete. Our goal to focus on educating/coaching our patients/athletes while having a lot of fun! It's important that each session consists of teaching correct position/alignment, and biomechanics of fundamental and higher level movement patterns. We progress our patients based on skill acquisition and their response.
We work with athletes from various sports of all levels, from grade school to professional and Olympic athletes. Additionally, we work with many fire fighters and police officers. Of course, we have patients from all other walks of life. Our patients are recovering from an injury or surgery, such as rotator cuff repairs, ACL reconstruction, spine surgery, etc. It's important that each team member understands their impact with our athletes and patients. We have patients that are driving from all areas of the valley and state, and we always want to make each session worth their time.
Company Description
ARIS is an Elite Private Outpatient Orthopedic Sports Medicine clinic. Orthopedic Surgeons, Coaches, Athletes at all levels, Fire Fighters, Police Officers, and people from all walks of life depend on us to help them regain or achieve the highest level of performance after an injury or surgery. We feel we are one of the best clinics in the country because we focus on fundamentals of functional anatomy and functional biomechanics starting with our evaluations. Details matter! The information and observations gained in our evaluation carries into our treatment plan.
We place a great deal of emphasis on education, instruction and coaching of every patient/athlete so that they have an in-depth understanding of our findings. We help them differentiate between the symptoms and what we believe to be the greatest area of concern, the real problem. An incident which caused an injury is, of course, not a mystery. It is the patient who has an injury or recurrent strain/sprain that affects their ability to perform at an optimal level. We must perform a thorough evaluation of their structure, mobility, flexibility, dynamic stabilization, and the quality of their movement patterns. Additionally, we must assess their ability to correctly perceive their positions and movement patterns. As we move through the process, which may include manual therapy, dry needling, shock wave, and NMES, we must focus on coaching them into correct positions, facilitate their ability to dynamically stabilize, which leads into correct movement patterns (simple and compound). Progression is in a logical sequence and is based on skill acquisition, healing timelines, and the patient’s response. Non-operative and post-operative protocols are used as guidelines, yet we think critically through each patient’s case and we are always making adjustments based on the patient/athlete’s learning style and ability to assimilate the information. The result is a patient/athlete who returns to their respective work or sport where all aspects of their functional ability, especially how they understand function, are at a much higher level. They “will” have a higher level of performance!Company Description
