Summary

The Records & Information Governance Business Systems Analyst serves as the liaison between the business community and the technical development team(s) who support the systems the community uses. This person is responsible for ensuring that business needs and compliance requirements, related to those systems, are clearly understood, documented and met. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will work closely with business system users, subject matter experts and technical resources to support business requirement efforts, document functional requirements and design specifications and support development and testing efforts.

The individual in this role assesses the capabilities of third-party applications to manage information according to policies, standards, and external regulations related to classification, retention, disposition, preservation, eDiscovery and public records requests and identifies gaps and associated risks. This role is critical for maintaining data integrity, mitigating compliance risks, and supporting governance across the information lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Elicit, analyze, and validate business needs from stakeholders.
  • Conduct research to understand project subject areas and inform requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and presentations to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements.
  • Manage and track requirements throughout the project lifecycle, updating as necessary.
  • Create clear, complete, and traceable documentation for requirements and design.
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments of compliance evidence and controls.
  • Perform risk and impact assessments related to regulatory requirements and information management best practices.
  • Provide training and guidance on compliance requirements to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ensure technical and business systems adhere to applicable regulatory standards.
  • Ensure applications and systems support information governance across the information lifecycle, including inventory, classification, retention, and disposition.
  • Evaluate application capabilities against policies, standards, and regulations; identify gaps and associated risks.
  • Perform information management risk assessments for new cloud applications as part of the Hosted Information Technology (HIT) process.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and process optimization.
  • Research and develop strategies to enhance compliance and governance processes.
What It Takes To Succeed

  • Strong knowledge of information governance principles, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience with content management systems and collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and detailed business processes.
  • Strong listening and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives and manage complex projects.

Experience

  • For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years).

Education

A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Testing and Certifications

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
