Your role and responsibilities

This position supports the coordination of inbound or outbound freight activities within the distribution center. It serves as a key liaison between transportation partners, internal departments, and warehouse operations to ensure efficient receiving or shipping and flow of goods. The role functions as a clerk for inbound or for outbound operations, providing backup coverage throughout the warehouse as needed and assisting with customer service-related tasks.

• Coordinate with Transportation Management, Inbound/Outbound Leadership, and carriers to schedule freight appointments and pickups. Perform systematic trailer check-in and check-out procedures for both inbound and outbound shipments.
• Prepare and manage documentation such as Bills of Lading, Purchase Orders, and carrier manifests. Monitor and update in-transit reports and resolve discrepancies using error logs.
• Communicate with customer service representatives regarding order status, delivery timelines, and special customer requirements.
• Ensure document control and compliance with internal procedures for both inbound and outbound freight.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support distribution center operations.

Qualifications for the role

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift, up to 40 lbs. frequently.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities. Adaptable to changing operational needs and schedules. Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset. Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime with minimal notice.
• Experience with Blue Yonder, WMS systems, is preferred.
• Prior experience in a distribution center or logistics environment is preferred.
