Hiring range: $19.07-$23.36 p/hour- depending on experience

The Community Relations Events Specialist serves as lead coordinator for external special events, marketing events and public relations activities to ensure strategic alignment with Yuma Regional Medical Center and the Yuma community. While the focus will be implementing external events, this position will partner with other team members on large scale internal events as well.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the planning, development and implementation of hospital wide health and community outreach efforts. Effectively aligns YRMC outreach efforts with the organizational purpose and goals. Meets with departments to develop community outreach strategies and goals. Proactively identifies new and innovative promotional activities; Measures, tracks and reports effectiveness of outreach program and events.

Coordinates external special events, aligned with employee engagement strategies; coordinates and implements logistic and appropriate supply orders; develops and monitors cost center budget and timelines in-line with department and organizational goals; ensures appropriate staffing for events and motivates volunteers; measures, tracks and reports event value.

Educates community about YRMC in a positive manner through outreach programs, speaking engagement, interactions with board members, physicians, management, staff, patients, community, other healthcare professionals, government and regulatory agencies, media and press, and outside vendors. Represents YRMC on a variety of community coalitions, projects and events and coordinates community outreach programs and special events; identifies key needs and concerns and facilitate needed follow-up.

Coordinates public promotion of events; serves as YRMC spokesperson; proactively work with media relations to identify media opportunities; develops, designs and implements effective communications (e.g. flyers, ads & press releases); displays good proofreading and editing skills to ensure quality and accuracy.

Proactively develops community partnerships and initiates collaborative connections for and with leaders across the organization.

Provides support and partnership for internal events, as needed.

Manages and maintains YRMC Silver Care program.

Measures, tracks and reports effectiveness of outreach program and events.

Other duties as assigned.
