Lead Software Developer

Lead Software Engineer - REMOTE - working on Pacific time
Up to $185,000 depending on skills and experience

We are a growing organization in the property management space, seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to take ownership of our home-grown B2C platform and related applications. This role combines daily coding with technical leadership , team development , and delivery oversight. You'll help complete platform rollout initiatives, improve system stability and scalability, and establish strong engineering practices that support growth and SOC 2 readiness.

Experience with Property Management technology would be huge!

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and ongoing enhancement of our platform and related applications.
• Write, review, and deploy production code daily.
• Drive platform stability, scalability, performance, and technical debt reduction.
• Partner with Product Management to prioritize roadmaps and deliver high-impact features.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices, including CI/CD, testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers, including remote and offshore resources.
• Support secure software development and audit-ready processes aligned with SOC 2 requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering coding experience , including 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python .
• Experience leading development teams and improving existing codebases.
• Knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, testing, deployment processes, and secure development practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Experience with Property Management technology would be huge!
• Experience with SOC 2 compliance or audit-focused engineering controls.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with third-party integrations, scalable systems, and AI-assisted development tools.

Success in this role will be measured by successful product delivery, platform reliability, improved code quality, team performance, reduced technical debt, and readiness for SOC 2 compliance.
