Site Attendant Ceiling
Ceiling Safety Monitor (Full-Time)
Location: North Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Monday–Friday | ~6:00 AM start (40 hrs/week)
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable Ceiling Safety Monitor to provide continuous safety oversight at above-ceiling access points. This role is critical to ensuring that all workers entering the ceiling space are properly trained and equipped according to safety requirements.
The position is primarily stationary and involves monitoring entrances near scaffolding or ceiling access points. Training and instructions will be provided by UIS.
Responsibilities
- Monitor above-ceiling access points at all times while work is being performed
- Verify workers have completed required above-ceiling training
- Ensure workers are wearing required PPE, including harness with dual lanyards
- Maintain continuous presence at assigned post — cannot leave unless properly relieved
- Communicate with supervisors and crew leads to coordinate breaks and lunch coverage
- Periodically assist the FAB cleaning team as needed
- In emergency or evacuation situations, may be required to climb a ladder and instruct workers to exit the ceiling area safely
Schedule & Hours
- Full-time: 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday
- Start time approximately 6:00 AM
Physical Requirements
- Mostly stationary, seated position
- Minimal physical demands under normal conditions
- Ability to climb ladders and access ceiling areas in emergency situations
- Candidate weight should ideally remain within ceiling work limitations due to potential emergency access needs
Qualifications
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Dependable and punctual
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
- Good communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Prior safety, construction, or facilities experience is a plus, but not required
- Willingness to complete all required training (provided)
