As a Welder at United Rentals, you will maintain and repair shoring and shielding equipment to maximize branch productivity. You’ll be dedicated to the service of Trench Safety rental equipment. What you'll do:

• Layout and apply the appropriate weld type, as per engineering or manufacturing specifications

• Inspect, repair and paint all rental equipment upon return to ensure that it is rental ready and safe for use

• Perform non-structural repairs or modifications to rental equipment per manufacturer's specifications

• Perform active shoring installation welding support on job sites

• Fabricate projects in the facility as required

• When required, travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance of equipment

• Complete work orders on equipment service and maintain an inventory of related parts for repair

• Ensure a clean and safe working environment

• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Welding school certification

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Arc, MIG and TIG welding

• Knowledge of metals and materials needed to perform repairs on all shoring, shielding, and slide rail applications

• Must be able to burn efficiently and with good quality

• Must be able to identify the type of welder, and wire or rod size, needed to complete safe repairs

• Knowledge of OSHA applicable state and local requirements relative to trench and excavation shoring and shielding

• Knowledge of underground construction equipment capabilities and OSHA safe working practices

• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsabilités complémentaires (liste non exhaustive) :

• Mettre en place et appliquer le type de soudure approprié, conformément aux spécifications d'ingénierie ou de fabrication

• Inspecter, réparer et peindre tout l'équipement de location à son retour pour s'assurer qu'il est prêt à être loué et qu'il peut être utilisé en toute sécurité

• Effectuer des réparations ou des modifications non structurelles à l'équipement de location selon les spécifications du fabricant

• Effectuer un support de soudage des installations actives d'étayage sur les chantiers

• Fabriquer des projets dans l'installation selon les besoins

• Au besoin, se rendre sur les chantiers des clients pour la réparation/l'entretien de l'équipement

• Remplir les bons de travail sur le service de l'équipement et tenir à jour un inventaire des pièces connexes à réparer

• Assurer un environnement de travail propre et sûr

• Autres responsabilités en fonction des besoins

Exigences du poste :

• Diplôme d’études secondaires ou équivalent

• Certificat d’une école de soudure

• Minimum de 1 à 2 ans d’expérience de soudage à l'arc, de soudage MIG (au magnésium en atmosphère inerte) et de soudage TIG (au tungstène en atmosphère inerte)

• Connaissance des métaux et des matériaux nécessaires pour effectuer des réparations sur toutes les applications d'étayage, de blindage et de glissières

• Doit pouvoir brûler efficacement et avec bonne qualité

• Doit être en mesure d'identifier le type de machine à souder et la taille du fil ou de la tige nécessaires pour effectuer des réparations en toute sécurité

• Connaissance des exigences nationales et locales applicables de l'OSHA relatives à l'étayage et au blindage des tranchées et des excavations

• Connaissance des capacités de l'équipement de construction souterrain et des pratiques de travail sécuritaires de l'OSHA

• Sens du service à la clientèle et du travail d’équipe, compétences en communication verbale et écrite

• Permis de conduire en cours de validité et dossier de conduite acceptable

• Capacité à soulever fréquemment des articles pesant jusqu’à 45 lb (20 kg)

WELDER - FLUID SOLUTIONS - FRAC

Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you’ll have the potential to work towards higher roles in our Service Department. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you'll do:

• Layout and apply the appropriate weld type, as per engineering or manufacturing specifications

• Inspect, repair and paint all rental equipment to ensure that it is rental ready and safe for use

• Perform non-structural repairs or modifications to rental equipment per manufacturer's specifications

• Fabricate projects in the facility as required

• Complete work orders on equipment service and maintain an inventory of related parts for repair

• Ensure a clean and safe working environment

• Operate overhead cranes, use chain magnets and other lifting devices to move material and hold in place.

• Read drawings to determine the appropriate welding method and equipment based on requirements

• Set up components for welding according to specifications

• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Welding school certification

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Arc, MIG and TIG welding

• Knowledge of metals and materials needed to perform required tasks

• General basic carpentry knowledge

• Must be able to burn efficiently and with good quality

• Must be able to identify the type of welder, and wire or rod size, needed to complete safe repairs

• Knowledge of OSHA safe working practices

• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
