Campbell Ave., Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, in the Department of Medicine, is seeking applicants for a Clinical Research Coordinator II to provide support for clinical trials within the Division, which includes assisting with the approval process of clinical studies, screening and enrolling participants, conducting participant visits, collecting and organizing data, and ensuring protocol adherence. The Clinical Research Coordinator II will serve as the intermediary between potential and enrolled participants and the primary investigators. The position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, effective organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.

- Administer and participate in the support of clinical studies, including contracts and budgets, institutional review board approvals, site selections and initiation visits, and protocol agreements and revisions.
- With Principal Investigator (PI) oversight, prepare and maintain regulatory study documentation including IRB submission and approval of new or revised protocols, safety and progress reports.
- Keep appropriate logs and study records, track participants, and prepare study materials.
- Recruit and enroll study participants through interviews and through verification of study inclusion criteria, obtain consents, and explain research protocols to study participants.
- Coordinate and conduct study appointments and procedures, including obtaining medical history and vitals, collection of specimens, and administering medication; assess and monitor patient's health.
- Coordinate physical exams with PI.
- Conduct adverse event assessment and provide recommendation to PI.
- Ensure proper collection, processing and handling of specimens - package, ship to sponsor.
- Develop and provide education materials and training to patients, family members, and clinical staff to assure patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Develop source documents and study-specific training.
- Coordinate and attend sponsor monitor visits.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Effective communication skills with different groups and individuals.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Comfortable multi-tasking and balancing several clinical studies.
- Knowledge of human subjects' protection program requirements and regulations.
- Excellent record keeping and data entry skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience is required.
