Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)
Position Type: Full-time, Direct W2
Salary Range: $100,000–$150,000 Annually
Experience Required: 6+ years

Job Summary
We are looking for a VMware Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization, software-defined networking, and software-defined storage platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. The role covers vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu, with a focus on automation, capacity management, and the practical realities of operating a large VMware estate alongside modern cloud-native workloads. The ideal candidate has operated VMware platforms at enterprise scale, navigates the evolving VMware product landscape pragmatically, and brings strong automation and operations discipline. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
- Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management.
- Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking.
- Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling.
- Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials.
- Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE.
- Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
- Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations.
- Exposure to migration programs out of VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
