Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description Perform mechanical analysis, mechanical CAD design, or mechanical testing of complex materials, structural components, or functional systems of missile system products. Utilize advanced structural and product design engineering software tools along with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX, and apply GD&T principles to designs. Responsibilities + Apply engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar nature. + Perform engineering design, development, analysis, and/or test activities to support assigned projects. + Develop test programs to evaluate system elements such as materials and structural components. + Manage test activities and test article fabrication, including documentation of results. + Communicate project status, analysis, and test results through written reports or presentations to internal and external customers. Essential Skills + Proficiency in mechanical design and CAD software, including Siemens NX. + Knowledge and experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing software (GD&T ASME Y14.5). + Experience in the aerospace, missile, launch vehicle, booster, or defense industry. + 5 years of aerospace design experience with daily use of GD&T. + Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a similar field, with upper-level coursework in mechanical design, heat transfer, and vibrations. + Experience with Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter. + Active DoD Secret Security clearance or higher. + ASME Y14.5-2009 GD&T certification. + Experience with DoD programs and within the launch vehicle industry. Work Environment Office and engineering lab setting with a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off, with week 1 consisting of 36 hours and week 2 of 44 hours). The dress code is business casual. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $62.50/hr.
