Senior Staff Accountant, Construction Accounting

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Location

This is an on-site role in the Greater Phoenix Area. There may be limited flexibility for one remote day per week, but candidates should be comfortable working primarily in the office.

Qualified candidates must have strong Excel proficiency, solid accounting fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on accounting experience.

Job Description

• Support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing construction business
• Process and reconcile payroll, benefits, and payroll liabilities
• Assist with job costing and tracking project profitability
• Calculate and reconcile sales commissions
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Assist with month-end close and revenue and cost tracking
• Maintain accurate accounting records and help improve internal processes
• Work closely with finance, operations, and leadership to support business performance
• Help ensure accounting information is accurate, timely, and useful for decision-making

Qualifications

• 1+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required
• Construction accounting, job costing, WIP, overbilling, underbilling, QuickBooks Online, Gusto, or Bill.com experience preferred
