D23: The Official Disney Fan Club is looking for a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for a passionate Disney fan who loves storytelling, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has a strong eye for engaging content across social platforms. This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area from January 2026-June 2026.
What You Will Do:
You’ll support the D23 Content Manager by crafting preliminary copy for social postings on Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok. Attend D23 and other company events as either a reporter, social media poster, support staff, or a combination of the three. Support the synergy lead on all cross-promotional opportunities with internal Disney partners to help build and foster relationships across D23 and other TWDC teams. You’ll also contribute creative ideas for social-first storytelling and fan engagement, along with researching background materials and compiling interview questions for upcoming stories to be written by you or your colleagues.
On any given day, you may:- Capture and edit short-form video and photo content optimized for social media
- Assist in drafting compelling copy that reflects the D23 brand voice and engages the Disney fan community
- Write original stories, quizzes, and other content for D23 media outlets based on original research and reporting
- Interview talent and creative team members for upcoming television projects, feature films, video games, Disney Parks attractions, Disney travel opportunities, books, consumer products, collectibles, and more, to be turned into stories written by you or your colleagues
- Proofread copy for D23.com posts, D23 emails, Disney twenty-three and other content
- Pitch content ideas based on upcoming D23 Member events and new projects from TWDC as well as ideas based on the company’s history and library of over 100 years of storytelling
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Knowledge of social platforms and best practices including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X with proven experience managing social media accounts or producing content for digital platforms
- Genuine interest in the Walt Disney Company history including films, animation, television, and theme parks as well as realms that may be new to you
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word and an ability to quickly learn additional communications and organizational software
- Proven storytelling skills with both experience in in-person and remote interviewing talent/creatives/other subjects and strong skills in editorial research, reporting, writing, grammar and proofreading to engage and entertain readers
- Excellent meeting note-taking skills to find the key points of the conversation and capture after-action responsibilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills while working under pressure and within quick deadlines with a high sense of responsibility and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience working on website and print publication content
- Knowledge of AP style
- Experience in posting and writing in the voice/tone of an organization with the ability to adapt to brand voice
- Photography experience
- Experience with WordPress or other CMS
- Willingness to take direction and editorial feedback and grow your skills accordingly
Education:
- Junior or Senior year preferred
- Major or previous coursework in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Film/Media Studies, or a related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2026 – June 2026
- Candidate should be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
- This internship is currently in the office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Fridays, with occasional nights and weekends for events, subject to change without notice
- Able to provide own housing and transportation for work in the Glendale, CA area
