General Music Teacher First through Eighth Grade

Pine Forest School in Flagstaff, AZ is in search of a Music teacher starting January 2026. The Music teacher will be responsible for continuing to develop the music abilities teaching first through eighth grade band, choir, violin and/or general music. For full time work, he/she/they will be asked to support in other areas of the school. He/she/they will participate fully in the life of the school and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Pine Forest School and the Waldorf Pedagogy. The Music teacher will participate in team meetings supporting students through the developmental stage of adolescence. Additional responsibilities regarding curriculum and programs below will be discussed during interview:

• World Music Drumming Curricular
• Set of Band Curricular
• Choir Curricular
• Violin Curricular
• Growing number of in-school instruments
• Teach recorder/singing to various grades
• Coordinate/lead Friday all school sing-a-long

Our K-8 charter school, guided by the Core Principles of the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education, offers a comprehensive academic curriculum along with special subject classes in Handwork/Woodwork, Spanish, Visual, Speech and Theater Arts, Music, Orchestra, Band, and Games/Movement. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s in music education and have experience teaching students implementing a creative and developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the educational philosophy developed by Dr. Rudolf Steiner known in the U.S as Waldorf education. An AZ teacher certification and Waldorf teacher training or certifications are desired but not a requirement.
