Job Title: Compliance Expansion Lead

Location : Based in Arizona (Happy Valley)
Multi-State Travel Required

Position Overview:
The Compliance Expansion Lead is responsible for ensuring seamless regulatory compliance, training, and operational readiness for new and upcoming cannabis retail locations. This role involves preparing for store openings, training staff, implementing compliance systems, and conducting ongoing support and audits post-opening. The Compliance Expansion Lead plays a critical role in maintaining adherence to state-specific cannabis regulations while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Opening Support

  • Conduct thorough reviews of state-specific cannabis regulations and prepare supporting documents.
  • Develop compliance resources, including flow charts, SOPs, and training guides.
  • Create and execute internal inspections and mock audits to ensure readiness.
  • Design training materials such as PowerPoints, quizzes, checklists, and forms.
  • Oversee inventory intake and store setup, ensuring proper compliance measures are in place.
  • Implement and configure compliance platforms such as Dutchie, Metrc, and Biotrack.

Training & Staff Development

  • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions for staff on compliance expectations, operations, and accountability.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and follow-ups to reinforce training and address compliance gaps.
  • Develop staff scheduling strategies to meet compliance and operational standards.

Operational Support During & Post-Opening

  • Provide onsite support before and during store openings, assisting with compliance operations such as POS setup, receipts, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct daily follow-ups on compliance documents, operational checklists, and staff adherence.
  • Perform weekly check-ins with new teams to address challenges and provide guidance.
  • Perform monthly site inspections, inventory audits, and document reviews to ensure ongoing compliance.

Travel Requirements:

  • Amount of Travel required 75%
  • Available for last-minute travel assignments, with the ability to remain onsite for up to four weeks at a time.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of state-specific cannabis regulations and compliance platforms (Metrc, Biotrack, Dutchie).
  • Experience creating training materials and SOPs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in retail cannabis operations is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card (or equivalent credentials) in all applicable states, in accordance with local cannabis regulations

Schedule:

  • Daily: SOP updates, staff training, and compliance document reviews.
  • Weekly: Regular check-ins with teams to support operations.
  • Monthly: Site inspections, inventory audits, and compliance reporting.
