McDonald Dental, an established, unique private practice, is excited to announce an opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Dental Assistant. This Part-Time position offers a chance to work in a dynamic and nurturing environment, where you will be able to contribute directly to the care and comfort of our patients. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in assisting with dental procedures and helping ensure the smooth operation of our dental office. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various dental procedures by handing instruments and materials or operating suction and other equipment.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms in accordance with infection control policies.
• Work with patients to take dental x-rays under the guidance of the dentist.
• Help maintain dental records and schedule appointments as necessary.
• Contribute to the ordering and restocking of consumables and dental supplies.
• Ensure the comfort of the patients before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Assist with front office tasks as needed such as answering phones and greeting patients.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current certification in CPR and dental radiography, as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience as a friendly and reliable team member who positively contributes to team environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills notable for interacting with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and cross-contamination avoidance.
• Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills and stay updated with advancements in dental practices.
• Demonstration of empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties which may require extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
• Legal authorization to work in the country without the need for sponsorship.
