The role involves working 1:2 with elementary-aged students, primarily focusing on a fifth grader who uses a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy, as well as a classmate with asthma. Candidates who have experience in special education and are familiar with medical needs in school settings will find this position especially meaningful.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional or Instructional Assistant in a school environment
• Prior SPED (Special Education) background required
• Familiarity with medical needs and procedures is highly valued
• Comfortable providing toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance to students
• Compassionate, patient, and able to collaborate with educational teams
• Ability to support students in a 1:2 setting, focusing on individualized needs

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide daily hands-on support for two students, ensuring safety and accessibility throughout the school day
• Focus primarily on assisting a student who is wheelchair bound, including help with mobility, toileting, and feeding
• Support both students as needed with classroom participation and personal care
• Follow individualized plans and collaborate closely with teachers and therapists
• Maintain accurate and confidential communication regarding student progress and needs
• Ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment
