Production Supervisor
- Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of the goods.
- Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances.
- Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records.
- Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
- Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
- Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs.
- Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
- Responsible for continuous improvement, quality, safety, workplace respect, and employee skill development.
- Works with Management team to set staff goals and expectations; measures performance, re-sets goals to support Company objectives. Ability to see the larger picture.
- Responsible for ensuring company policies, procedures, and performance requirements are being met. Responds appropriately if department personnel do not comply with Company policy and/or procedures.
- Core participant in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and related methodologies.
- Projects a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.
- Exercises good judgment in routine situations and anticipates consequences of decisions.
- Ability to set clear expectations and direction with staff.
- Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
- Strong time-management, prioritization, scheduling and delegating.
- Working at the pace of business while maintaining a safe work environment
- 5-10 years of related manufacturing experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems preferred but not required.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and demonstrate leadership by example.
- Planning and Scheduling Production experience preferred.
