About the Role:
The Line Cook plays a critical role in the kitchen by preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that every plate meets the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and timeliness. This position requires close collaboration with other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Line Cook is responsible for managing multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and consistency. This role demands adaptability and efficiency to handle peak service times without compromising quality. Ultimately, the Line Cook contributes directly to the overall dining experience by delivering delicious meals that satisfy and delight customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Must have current AZ Food Handler Certificate.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary school training.
- Experience with various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Knowledge of inventory management and kitchen equipment maintenance.
- First aid and food handler certification.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation throughout the shift.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate timing and delivery of dishes.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
- Participate in daily kitchen setup and closing procedures.
