MEP Coordinator - Electrical
*Traveling Role - 3 weeks onsite/1 week work from home (projects located throughout the U.S. - can reside anywhere in the U.S.) *
Join a dynamic team as a MEP Technical Coordinator, where you will play a key role in the successful installation and commissioning of critical electrical equipment for data centers, including UPS and switchgear, at customer sites. - Review and interpret contract documents, including drawings, submittals, equipment lists, Arc Flash studies, and commissioning compliance documents to ensure alignment with project design requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with field staff, project teams, clients, and commissioning authorities to support project objectives and resolve technical issues.
- Oversee and verify installation methods and quality assurance processes to ensure systems meet project specifications and owner requirements.
- Participate in regular project meetings, providing updates on project status, addressing action items, and supporting project scheduling.
- Support the closeout of punch list items and assist with yellow tag inspections to ensure project completion and compliance.
- Promote and enforce site safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Represent the company professionally onsite, demonstrating dependability, motivation, and a collaborative team spirit.
- Travel as required within the continental United States to support project needs.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in electrical or mechanical discipline, OR equivalent experience and training.
- 5+ years of construction experience, with a strong preference for electrical backgrounds.
- 2+ years of experience in site supervision or project management roles preferred.
- Experience with installation and commissioning of electrical equipment, particularly in data center environments, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
- Strong working knowledge of ATS, UPS, and switchgear functionality.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Procore.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project) and Adobe PDF editing tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E training (to be completed within the first 30 days of employment).
- First Aid/CPR certification (to be completed within the first 30 days of employment).
- Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CEE, Electrical Journeyman, or completion of an electrical-related trade school
