Physical Therapist Job Details

• Position Type: Locum Tenens Physical Therapist (Travel Contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital
• Location: Tucson, AZ 85712 (Arizona healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30), includes 2 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2120-$2180
• Orientation: Comprehensive onboarding provided (multiple dates available)

Physical Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care hospital or clinical setting
• Active Physical Therapy license (Arizona PT license preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Experience with neurological, orthopedic, surgical, medical, and complex psychosocial conditions preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, evaluation, and documentation skills
• Ability to supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and students
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care abilities
• First-time travel Physical Therapists welcome!

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients in an acute care hospital or outpatient clinical environment
• Perform diagnostic testing and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans
• Set and adjust patient goals, modifying therapy plans as needed
• Incorporate patient-specific variables such as medical condition, stamina, and motivation into therapy planning
• Select, fit, and train patients in the use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, or orthotics
• Prepare and maintain electronic documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals on patient progress and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families/caregivers on therapeutic procedures and home exercise programs
• Participate in training and supervision of healthcare staff and students
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Engage in process improvement and adhere to organizational safety, confidentiality, and core values
