Director of Operations & Finance (Controller)
- Supervise all accounting operations including detailed books and records, daily and monthly reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll (via ADP).
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, manage cash flow, and create all financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Perform tax filings and maintain financial records with meticulous attention to detail.
- Analyze financial data to guide decision-making and proactively manage financial and operational risks.
- Continually review costs and expenses to achieve cost reductions
- Manage and optimize inventory management processes, including SKU management, accurate order entry, and fulfillment in QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Cin7, and other inventory management systems (back end of Saks/Neimans, Bloomingdales, etc).
- Supervise and coordinate inventory management, logistics, and distribution to ensure efficient, timely product flow domestically, and internationally.
- Collaborate closely with external labs, warehouses, and retail partners to manage supply chain and distribution logistics.
- Assess, implement, monitor, and maintain accuracy across Shopify, QuickBooks, and CRM platforms, supporting operational efficiency and customer care excellence.
- Drive Sales & Marketing performance noting key opportunities for performance, implement weekly sales incentives via CRM, help create presentations for Market Meetings.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop strategies for sustainable growth and operational optimization.
- Provide proactive insights for strategic planning, operational improvements, and financial health. Own the implementation of these insights and outcomes.
- Coordinate effectively across internal teams to ensure alignment between inventory management, marketing initiatives, and sales objectives.
- Mentor & collaborate with team members handling marketing, sales, customer care, and order entry, ensuring alignment with company standards and processes.
- Manage, review, & organize sensitive documents ie contractor agreements, new hire paperwork,
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a Controller or senior financial/operational role, preferably within the luxury, beauty, consumer goods, manufacturing, or financial services industries.
- Familiarity with EDI, international logistics, and B Corporation standards.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Google Suite, is required, with working knowledge of Cin7, Shopify, and warehouse inventory management systems.
- Demonstrated experience with payroll and HR functions (ADP or Gusto preferred).
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- MBA or CPA preferred, but not required
