Radiology Technician
Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Radiology Technician, where your expertise in medical imaging will play a vital role in patient diagnosis and care. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced urgent care environment. As a Radiology Technician, you will utilize your technical skills and comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology to produce high-quality images that assist medical providers in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to patient outcomes and the efficiency of our healthcare services.Duties
- Operate and maintain advanced imaging equipment: X-ray
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations using X-ray to assist in emergency medicine and urgent care settings.
- Collaborate with medical staff to interpret images accurately, ensuring high standards of diagnostic radiology are maintained for the urgent care setting
- Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, equipment calibration logs, and patient information while following strict safety protocols.
- Ensure all imaging procedures comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and radiation protection guidelines.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
- Rad techs in this urgent care setting will be cross trained in MA duties and may be required to assist in typical back office MA day to day tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with X-ray machines in other medical centers preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
- Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) OR certified Practical Technologist in Radiology required.
- Hands-on experience operating different X-ray machines.
- Ability to interpret complex images accurately for diagnostic evaluation under pressure in urgent care situations.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and explain procedures clearly to patients.
