Field Preparation Technician

What you will do:  

• Prepare field seed beds and flag sites 
• Seed cleaning, seed treatment and set-up of experiments 
• Seed small plot field trials and nurseries 
• Establish and maintain nurseries through herbicide application, fertilizing, discing, weeding, rogueing, etc. 
• Operate small plot field equipment such as tractors, seeders, sprayers and tillage tools 
• Take accurate and precise agronomic notes 
• Operate a small plot combine or swather 
• Prepare land for fall through application of herbicides and fertilizer under the direction of site personnel 
• Calibrate equipment and conduct maintenance 
• Assist technicians, agronomists and plant breeders with other duties as required 

What you will bring:  

• High School Diploma or GED required 
• Ability to lift 50lbs 
• Ability to travel as required
